Chinook Centre

Chinook Centre Calgary Shopping Mall

Chinook Centre is the largest shopping mall in Calgary and the only one currently with a movie theatre. There is underground parking as well as outdoor parking. Just a short walk from the Chinook LRT train station, Chinook Centre is easily accessible by car or transit. Anchor stores include Hudson’s Bay, Nordstrom ans Saks Fifth Avenue. Chinook Centre has a pretty nice food court and some attached restaurants such as Joey Chinook, Tin Tin Dim Sum, State and Main and Globefish Japanese Bistro.

Market Mall

Market Mall Calgary

The only mall worth going to on the West end of Calgary as far as I’m concerned. Market Mall has underground parking as well as ample outdoor parking. Somewhat close to the University of Calgary, but not exactly close to any LRT station, car is probably best for Market Mall. Market Mall has your standard stores found in Canadian shopping malls such as Hudson’s Bay, H&M, Sport Chek, Apple Store, etc. It does have one of Calgary’s few remaining Toys R Us stores, that’s always fun to walk around.

Southcentre Mall

Southcentre Mall Calgary

Southcenter Mall is where I would go if I lived South of Glenmore Trail. It has Calgary’s only Crate and Barrel while Chinook has William Sonoma if you’re looking for fancy houseware. Just down Macleod Trail from each other, it’s not too bad to hop in your car or train between Anderson and Chinook LRT station. Across the parking lot is the nifty looking Fish Creek Library that’s in the shape of a pyramid. CRAFT Beer Market is a great place to hangout and enjoy the sun on the patio. Just a stone’s throw from Willow Park, that little plaza is worth checking out as well if you’re visiting Southcentre.
