Top 3 Pedestrian Walks in Calgary

Kensington Road NW

Kensington Road NW Calgary

Within walking distance from Prince’s Island Park and the Peace Bridge, Kensington has a good selection of little boutiques and unique dining experiences. I especially enjoy Crave Cupcakes at one end of Kensington Road and Chicken on the Way at the far end of Kensington Road. Parking is often troublesome, but I can usually find a spot on the street further West towards 14th Street NW. The interesting part of Memorial Drive with the iconic street sign is also nearby.

Top 3 Places to Fix Rock Chips in Calgary

CalAlta Auto Glass

CalAlta Autoglass Calgary

I’ve been going to CalAlta Auto Glass for almost as long as I could drive. WAY back when, I had the windshield replaced on my Nissan 240SX as I had purchased it with a broken windshield. I liked them so much that whenever I needed a rock chip fixed, I would go back to CalAlta. They do have limited Saturday hours and wherever possible, I would wait until Saturday to get back to them. Top 3 Fancy Hotels to Stay at in Calgary

Fairmont Palliser

Fairmont Palliser Hotel Calgary Alberta

Originally a Canadian Pacific Railway hotel, I think the Fairmont Palliser is Calgary’s oldest, most historic and fanciest hotel. You can probably find old postcards of Calgary where the Palliser Hotel was the tallest building around. Now it’s surrounded by the Calgary Tower, and The Edison. Completed in 1914, the Palliser Hotel is an icon of Canada’s history with the railroad and the grand railway hotels. Today, managed by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts (who was purchased by Canadian Pacific Hotels), it is still Calgary’s finest hotel in my books. I’m biased towards the Fairmont group of hotels in general, because of our love of the Banff Springs Hotel and Chateau Lake Louise. For years now, since we don’t really have things that we want, my wife and I had standardized our gifts to each other for special occasions as Fairmont gift cards and stay whenever possible. Never expire and good in any currency.
